Dear family, My name is Jana and I am 37 years old. I have been in Canada for over 12 years. I came from Slovakia where I got my education (Master’s Degree in Social Work). While attending my university, I volunteered for an organization working with autistic children and also with deaf youth. As per my work with children, I have 4 years of experience as a live-in nanny from UK, USA, and Canada. During past 7 years I worked for an agency as a nanny on call and have some regular families I babysit for. I took care of children of all different ages- from infants to teenagers and I am confident to work with all ages. Recently I moved from Whistler where I lived for past 7 years. My daytime job was working as a Guest Services Supervisor for Whistler Blackcomb and some evenings I was babysitting- I found it to be a nice balance from sometimes stressful office environment to playing with kids and to be active and fun! The main reason I relocated to Vancouver is to work with children again- and possibly go back to school to obtain ECE diploma and open my own daycare one day. I find work with children rewarding and satisfying. I am a very outdoorsy person- I love skiing, mountain biking, hiking and backpacking. Some of my other hobbies are traveling, photography and playing guitar. My ideal family would want me to spend time with kids outside as much as we can- focusing mainly on the child’s needs. I can also do a light housekeeping and cooking but the main focus would be childcare. I am mature, responsible and easygoing individual with the greatest patience.
