Dear families, My name is Isabel, I am 24 years-old, a McGill graduate, and I have been working with children since I was 15. My experience ranges: community service, development work, tutoring, and baby-sitting. In high school I did a lot of community service where we planned activities for local orphanages. We were responsible for taking them to the park and organizing games and then we would sit and have lunch together, which was when the real bonding happened. I was happy to see them every month and many would look for me to play once they got off the bus, so heart-warming! With my career in international development I have also had much contact with children and babies. Last year I spent it in Uganda working for a Canadian charity called The Shanti Uganda Society, which focuses on maternal and infant health. It was a rewarding experience that furthered my knowledge about children\'s well-being (and I rather miss hanging out at the birth centre!). I am also happy to help children with their homework so I enlisted as tutor for my school back home. I tutored a total of 10 children until I graduated high school, all of which showed a significant improvement in their grades. I loved going over lessons and making the material more interesting by adding the perspective and energy many classrooms lack. I am strongest in English (writing and literature), History, and Science. Lastly, I have always enjoyed a good rapport with families who employ me to babysit. I am punctual, organized, and posses a keen attention to detail. But most importantly I will put your child\'s safety above my own.
