I am a nineteen year old woman from Ottawa, Ontario in Canada. I have been working with children since I was twelve years old as my local babysitter. As I got older, my passion for education grew and I began to assist my teachers in ballet classes. I then attended the National Ballet School of Canada for eight months to study Dance Education. Here I partook in many courses and workshops that studied early childhood development, creative movement, ballet technique, musical theory, anatomy and many more. These classes have given me the tools to aide in a child's physical, mental and intellectual development through the use of rhythm, timing, hand-eye coordination, proprioception and artistic expression. I am a dedicated educator who wishes to pursue a career in childcare as this is the most direct line of education. I believe education rooted in curiosity allows for the most absorption of information and therefore through play and exploration children will learn more. I am bilingual and was the top of my class in French grammar, therefore would be able to help with homework. I am a very active and healthy eating person who takes a lot of pride in my cooking. My primary goal is the well being of the children I am responsible for. As a camp coordinator, being responsible for thirty children for forty-four hours a week will help me stay on top of small or large families. I believe that my background in caring for large groups of children has given me solid organizational, improvisational and head counting skills! I have traveled across large and small cities such as Toronto and Ottawa, Ontario with large groups of children and am therefore confident with trips outside the neighbourhood. My hobbies include, arts and craft, dance, basketball, reading, camping and going to museums.
