Nanny in Halifax, Nova Scotia

Hello there, My name is Amy Keeler, I am a musician and an artist, and an experienced childcare provider. After an extensive tour through Europe and the US, I will be taking a break and spending the summer in Nova Scotia, and I am seeking full time employment as a Nanny for the duration, from Mid June to September. I am looking for positions either in Halifax or Wolfville, or the South Shore. For the past ten years, when I have not been touring as a professional musician, or creating art, I have held positions caring for children of all ages, as well as teens, and engaging with them creatively. I think all children are artistic and need encouragement to express themselves creatively. I've had extensive experience teaching kids multiple instruments, as well as drawing, painting, and crafting. I've organized and supervised Art Camps for large groups of children where we do activities like clay modeling, painting, mask-making, and playwriting and filming. I have also taught older children basic blacksmithing. I speak basic french and basic spanish, so I like teaching kids little bits of these languages. I also love the outdoors, and hiking, swimming and canoeing. So that's the other main activity I like to bring the kids on. I don't like sitting inside in front of the TV, and I don't like seeing kids zoning out in front of the TV either. There's a big world out there, and most kids spend the majority of their time sitting in school, so why not spend their leisure time outside in the fresh air. If the kids need help with homework also, I was a tutor when I was in school, so I can help them with most subjects like math, english, geography, etc. I have many references available upon request, just let me know, and I can provide a list of references in a timeline.
