My name is Alex and I am currently working with children for the YMCA at Mackenzie Kids Club in Vancouver. I absolutely love my job, however, I sadly do not have a summer position through the YMCA, and will be returning in September. This means that the position I am currently looking for is only for the months of July and August, with full-time hours. I am a fun, caring, outgoing individual. I love the outdoors, making all kinds of crafts, baking/cooking, and I love to read. I have made friends with all 25 kids at my centre, and we do all of these activites and more on a daily basis. I have also been babysitting and working summer camps since I was 13. Family is something that is very important to me. I am the oldest child of 4 (I have two brothers and a sister). I hope to work with a family that values this type of bond as much as I do. I am extremely passionate about working with kids. So much so, I am currently looking into courses to become an elementary school teacher. Kids are such a joy to be around that work never really feels like work and I hope to make it into a career in the near future. This is just me in a nutshell. I am really looking to work with a family that has kids with similar interests as myself; bike riding, reading, making crafts, board games, exploring, etc. - just some great kids to have a wonderful, and exciting (yet safe) summer with.
