Hello, my name is Linda and I am currently enrolled as a student in the ECE program at Conestoga college. I graduate in April of 2016. I am an outgoing, fun, caring, creative female. I love working with children and have many years of experience working with many different ages and at different locations. I have worked as a babysitter, as a summer camp counsellor, and overnight camp counsellor and worked at the YMCA organizing and teaching children's activities. I've babysat for acouple different families from 2008-201.... I'm in the Early Childhood Education Program at Conestoga and have had 2 placements in a toddler rooms and one with preschoolers. All these jobs have given me experience with children who are missing parents, dealing with change in their life, have behavioral issues and children who are sick. My experience has also introduced me to many activities to engage children of all ages. This has also given me an opportunity to learn and practice cooking meals for children. As a student in college my classes go until around 5pm so I am only available evenings and nights, and some mornings. I realize this can be difficult to work around but the best job option for me would be to watch kids any time after 5 for however long is needed. However starting in mid-April I will be available to work at any time. I am more than comfortable staying until late at your place in ensure your children are sleeping and be there in case of emergency. I believe that the relationships that children make have a huge impact on their development and I always strive to make connections with the children, observe and be aware of their growing interests. Children learn best by playing, manipulating and experimenting with their environment. I believe children should be respected and viewed a competent individuals. Every moment can be used as a learning opportunity for a child. I have my first aid, CPR and a police check. I look forward to hearing from you.
