My experience over the years has grown both my skills and my love for children. I've spent five summers as a counsellor at overnight camps caring for the physical, mental and emotional needs of campers in ages ranging from 5 to 17. As well as many years volunteering in various community programs leading and planning activities for kids in elementary and middle school. I also completed a co-op term working at a daycare with newborn to 4 year olds where I learned many things about the development of children. I also recently participated in a 5-month program where I volunteered all over the world. One of those months was spent volunteering at an orphanage in Uganda where I helped care for 55 children ages newborn to 5 years old. I love creativity, adventure and being a part of helping kids grow in these and many other characteristics. I believe that exploration, discovery, and creativity are huge in helping children bloom into their full potential. When kids are in a positive, safe, and encouraging environment they can achieve anything they set their minds to.
