Nanny Job in Vancouver, British Columbia

$18 to $22/hour depending on the candidate. Open to full-time or part-time, weekdays. Language: Fluent in English. Spanish, Dutch or Vietnamese a bonus. Education: Equivalent of high school diploma; Some post-secondary education preferred. Experience: Full-time caregiver experience with children for at least one year or equivalent experience. Housekeeping experience also important. Job Location: Vancouver Work setting: In private home of employer. Transportation: Public bus and sky train. Possible of use of family car depending on driving experience and our assessment. Qualifications: Honest, reliable, flexible, energetic, loving, caring. Our Family: We are a busy family of five. Our children are nine, seven and three years old. The older two children attend school and are home by 4pm most days. They are home during holidays and summer vacation. Our three year old is home full time. Job Description: We need you to take good, loving care of our three children when we are at work. You will assist with preparing and feeding the children meals, ensuring the children’s personal hygiene and social development, including: walking the children to any activities, taking them to play at the park and engaging them at home by reading, playing games and with toys, creating arts and crafts, and supervising them when they play in the backyard. You will interact with the children much of the time, letting them have some individual or self-play as well while you supervise. You will be putting our youngest down for an afternoon nap every day. You will need to discipline according to our family approach, which involves modeling, gentle reminders, and intervention when necessary. You will assume full responsibility of the household in the absence of the parents, which includes dinner preparation, light cleaning duties during the day (eg. laundry; maintaining house cleanliness; etc.), and maintaining a safe household. Mom is currently recovering from a concussion, which means on occasion, she will be in the house during the day, although not involved in the household activities or care of the children.
