As a secondary care giver I will work in partnership with the parents and honor their requests. I feel that many experiences which children have are meant to be shared with their primary care givers and I respect that. I sincerely love working with children and will do everything I can to enrich their growth and development. I am a good listener, flexible, positive thinker, kind, gentle, energetic, understanding, and full of fun ideas. For the past two years I have been working with a before and after school care program called Spare Time Child Care Society. There are a number of Spare Time centres in Vancouver, each housing forty to eighty children from kindergarten to seventh grade. I was hired as a "Kindergarten Specialist" due to my background in Early Childhood Education and I work with children up to third grade. Some of my duties include; meal preparation, reading to small or large groups, storytelling, facilitating indoor and outdoor games, encouragement of social responsibilities and manners, helping to build problem solving skills, creating art and science activities and working on a team to ensure the safely of children. Since October, I have also been working at Spare Time Tree House which is a preschool with seven children all at the current age of four.
