Hi there! My name is Joanna. I am passionate about helping children grow, succeed, and be joyful. I bring a great sense of responsibility, honesty, fun, joy, and creativity to my work environment. I am very organized and flexible. I love cooking, cleaning, doing crafts, being adventurous and imaginative, and working to bring out the best in children. With many years of experience in working for camps, babysitting (locally and internationally) and teaching, I feel very confident in my ability to care for children of all ages. I am an artist, and I graduated from college with a music degree, but I have found that nothing seems to be as fulfilling to me as caring for children. I love to incorporate my artistic and musical experience into fun and educational activities to do with kids. I also love including children in other activities (cooking, cleaning) to help teach them skills, but also to show them how fun it can be. I am very interested in moving from the United States to British Columbia to be a full time, live-in nanny. To whom it may concern, I am writing on behalf of Joanna J, who is applying for a position as a nanny. I have known Joanna for four years since she moved to Mobile, Alabama to attend the University of Mobile where my husband teaches in the music department. Joanna has babysat my children for the past several years, from when they were 9 and 7 years old until now when they are 13 and 11. My kids always like when Joanna babysits. She is engaged and fun to be around, but also makes sure that they brush their teeth and are in bed on time, a skill I greatly appreciate. I have recommended her as a babysitter for my friends as well. Joanna has also been the guitar teacher for my 11 year old daughter for the past three years. I typically have been nearby during the lessons, and appreciate the patience and kindness that Joanna shows to my daughter. When my daughter feels frustrated or cannot get something new on the first try, Joanna gently encourages her to continue or creates fun music games to teach new guitar skills and keep lessons fun yet challenging. Joanna is also a talented photographer and we recently did a family portrait session in a local park with her. Joanna was prompt and professional and conducted herself with maturity beyond her years. She was so patient and kind with the kids to get their best smiles. She also was perfect in making goofy faces and getting them to laugh. They both adore her and the photos came out great. We love Joanna and are sad that she is moving but are so happy to see her grow and blossom.

Joanna is such a loving and compassionate person. Our kids adore her and love spending time with her. She does an amazing job with kids and truly has a heart for being a nanny. She is very reliable and has a great work ethic. She is also very musically talented and a great photographer.
