Do you enjoy cleaning and maintaining an organized house? Laundry, dishes, floors, toilets, fridges, stove and more! We are an active family with 4 young kids and 2 dogs. We want to spend our time with our kids, and not have to worry about cleaning the home or doing the laundry and dishes etc. We are looking for a hard working, self starting individual that has extensive experience with interior house cleaning, proper laundry care and overall organization. We are very particular about how our clothes are laundered. Attention to detail when cleaning is important - for example when vacuuming the living room, move the sofas so you can vacuum the floor under them, but also vacuum the underside of the sofa. When cleaning the stove, use toothpicks etc. to get in the tight spots! The toilet paper always rolls over. Towels should all be folded the same way; they stack better this way. Sock need their mate and always right side out. I’m all about the details. The ideal candidate is a hard worker who takes pride at maintaining a meticulously clean/organized household and will focus on the job required so we can focus on our precious family time together. Live-out Executive Housekeeper Responsibilities: • General hands-on management of the home to include housekeeping, laundry, ironing, wardrobe management, • Careful attention to housekeeping is essential as the home has fine surfaces, artwork and high-end antiques • Good laundry and ironing skills are key • Following fabric-care and stain removal guidelines are important. Practice careful attention to garment labels so as to identify what items should be hand-washed, laundered or go out for dry-cleaning. • Returning laundered or dry-cleaned clothes to their designated area. Checking for loose buttons or general garment repair. • Wardrobe management • Informing Principals of any system or item that requires repair • Cleaning, organization of refrigerator that includes throwing out expired food items the day before garbage pick up • Mrs. primarily does groceries, however, the Executive Housekeeper will manage inventories and create grocery lists that include food, cleaning products and toiletries • Cleaning and organization of closets, drawers and cupboards • Silver polishing • Management of garbage and recycling that includes breaking down boxes to fit in recycling • Keeping kitchen and appliances (large and small) clean and pristine • Thorough cleaning of bathrooms to include replenishment of towels and toiletries • Thorough cleaning of bedrooms including washing bed linens and remaking beds with fresh linen • Thorough cleaning of all floors, vacuuming and mopping • Thorough dusting of the entire home • Daily tidying up of children’s toys (put away in their respective bin, shelf etc.) • Keeping exterior of house clean and debris free (terrace and decks) • Front door management and being mindful of security of the residence and family • Quarterly deep cleans of the residence • Being prepared to perform occasional baby sitting • Other related or non-related duties, as needed Skills and Aptitudes: • A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a similar luxury residence • Excellent housekeeping knowledge and a proven ability to care for and maintain fine surfaces, high-end antiques and artwork • Should have a keen attention to detail • Excellent laundry, ironing, fabric-care and stain removal skills • Wardrobe management experience • Must be child-friendly • Good English communication skills (verbal and written) • Ability to work behind the scenes, be here, but not in our space. • Organized with an ability to multi-task • An ability to work independently with very little instruction • The Executive Housekeeper should be capable of identifying and anticipating projects and tasks with good follow-through • The ideal candidate pays attention to details, has common sense and the ability to execute and “figure things out” • Ability to drive is a must as there is no public transportation where we live (south lakeshore) • Prepared to offer schedule flexibility • The ability to demonstrate an appropriate level of courtesy, integrity, respect and discretion is essential. A polished and professional bearing is expected. • Must be punctual and reliable • The candidate should be physically fit and able to lift 30 lbs • The successful candidate will understand professional boundaries • Maintain confidentiality and security of all household information and property. Must be willing to sign a confidentiality agreement. • Sponsorship is not being considered. • Must have no criminal record • This is a smoke-free work environment • Must be capable of handling a physically demanding job. The position is Monday to Friday. 5 hours per day. The hours are 2:30pm-7:30pm. Some flexibility is required. Start date: January 11th, 2021. Executive Housekeeper position pays $25/hour cash.
