Family Bio • Two boys: Spirited and high energy 6 year old, attending full day at private school and adorable, easy-going 21 month old attending part-time daycare. • Mother working in the healthcare industry 6 hours /day 5 days/week • Father working full-time in IT • We value quality time together exploring in the outdoors, preparing meals together, and reading books. Characteristics You are: • Organized and able to help the family stick to a consistent routine • Educated: able to enrich the children’s development with learning activities • Energetic: fun and lead an active healthy lifestyle (non-smoker only) • Caring and compassionate: not afraid to show affection • Open to learning, feedback and sharing your thoughts • Willing and enthusiastic to attend and participate in activities (such as Library and Play group programs) • Familiar with “Attachment Parenting” and “Positive Discipline” philosophies • Able to support a minimal screen-time and healthy eating approach to childcare. Responsibilities We need: • Primary responsibility will be for the care of toddler and pick-up and after school care of 6-year-old (including snack and meal preparation) • Secondary responsibility will be for keeping the house tidy and organized. • Cleaning duties include but not limited to: o Children’s laundry & bedding o General tidy of children’s play spaces and bed rooms o Cleaning common areas such as kitchen and bathroom Timeframe: • Ideally starting full time in Sept/Oct 2018, Monday to Friday flexible start and end time between 8am – 7pm • One Saturday late night / month Qualifications • First Aid / CPR training up to date • Ontario Driver’s License • Police Record Check (Canadian and International if relevant) • Two references available to speak via phone • At least 2 years’ experience working with children • Speaking a second language is an asset
