Good Day! My name is Balisa Johnson. I live in Las Vegas Nevada. I have a Bachelors degree in Psychology, and College Certificate in Early Childhood Education. I have previously been employed as a preschool teacher, and a substitute teacher for Elementary and Junior High Schools. A little information about my current career. I have been employed in my County Government with the Department of Children & Family Services for the past 13 years. In my current position, I work directly with foster children of all ages. My job is to help locate safe and appropriate homes for the foster children, until they can return home. I have been doing this for three years. Prior to this, I worked as a Child Protection Services Investigator. My job there was to investigate child Abuse & Neglect. And then assess and determine if children were safe to remain in their homes, or needed to be temporarily placed with a relative or in foster care. In Nevada, when children are placed into Protective Custody they are initially placed into our 24 hour facility, called Child Haven. (You can look up Child Haven in Clark County Nevada for specific information). They reside in cottages that are age and gender appropriate. For the past several years I have also worked part-time at that facility caring for those children. On a lighter note, I am at the point in my life where I seek new challenges and adventures. I love kids. And thought, l still want to care for them, but not in such a depressing setting. I have a lot of love in my heart to share. Kids love me, and they can sense I love them! As for animals, I am all in! I love animals, and have 3 dogs myself and used to have horses. I love bears too. I love the water and swimming. I have a pool in my back yard. Traveling is a passion of mine. I just got back from an Alaska Adventure and want to go to Cuba next. I love Canada. I have only been to Victoria, but it was beautiful there. I recently had the pleasure to spend a day in Alaska on a tour with 2 very friendly Canadians. I have successfully raised my two grown children.
