Nanny Job in Kingston, Ontario

We have a 3 yr old that has disabilities due to a very rare genetic disorder. He loves bouncing, music and dancing, reading, and Lots and Lots of snuggles! Training provided for all care including his medical needs so experience is not necessary but is a bonus. He is a very sweet boy who wants nothing more but to be cuddled and explore the world with someone’s help and his smile and laugh light up the room. It’s not always easy to figure out what is upsetting him if he’s uncomfortable or in pain (usually gas, reflux, or when he’s sick) as he can’t tell us what is going on so requires patience. He needs help sitting up, uses a walker to stand, a wheelchair to get around sometimes, uses a feeding tube in his belly (gtube) to eat, he has epilepsy and has multiple smaller seizures a day (not convulsions- we just reassure him), his vision is impaired (cortical vision impairment) which means it’s not permanent but right now he has low vision, he has mobility and motor skill challenges and isn't able to speak words (though he is vocal in his own way and we have a lot of cues that he tells us how he feels with). We’re looking for Monday to Friday 7-9am and then 12-6pm. He goes to preschool 9-12pm. Looking for someone willing to give one on one care, learn and do his therapy exercises, and be ok with the medical side of things like medications, gtube feedings, suction, and cleaning supplies (training provided). This person would also help with household things including but not limited to: cleaning, laundry, and pet care. Must be comfortable with animals as we have 4 pets.
