Nanny Job in Medicine Hat, Alberta

Are you looking for a live-in nanny position? If you are responsible, flexible and like working with toddlers, then this is the job for you! I am an on-call health care provider working full time in Medicine Hat looking for someone to provide live-in childcare for my son Logan. Logan is a sweet, expressive and clever little boy who will be six in September. He is tons of fun to hang out with and has a vivid imagination. He loves nothing more than going outside and hanging out at the playground or kicking a soccer ball around. A typical week would involve you getting my son ready for preschool and doing pickup and drop off for him each day Monday to Friday. You will also be responsible for some light housework including Logan’s laundry, meal preparation, and general tidying up. As well, I get called away to births 4-5 times per month, and this is really why I prefer a live in caregiver but can be flexible. Babies come when they come and they don't operate on a schedule like the rest of us! I am privileged to be present with women during these precious moments when they first meet their babies, but it means any nanny considering this position needs to be flexible, positive, and unfailingly reliable. You will be looking after my son outside of normal kindergarten hours when I am away at births. During my two weeks of on call each month, I would need you to be available to take over care of my son within 20 minutes and continue to care until I can return. Often these births happen overnight while my son is asleep! Subsidized room and board are included in this position, we are looking for someone willing to live in our home and remain within 15-30 minutes of home during the period of the contract. Vacation time is flexible and can be negotiated depending on your needs. I get up to 4 weeks of off-call vacation time each calendar year, with extra off-call time negotiated with my team on an as-needed basis. While living in our home you would really be one of the family. You would have your own room and bathroom, access to the kitchen, laundry and all common areas in the house. This is a great way to save money on housing while also earning a competitive wage! I own a four bedroom, newly renovated home in Medicine Hat in a nice neighbourhood, and Logan’s school is just minutes away by car. I am looking for someone interested in remaining in this job for the long term, however, shorter terms negotiable. Medicine Hat is located 2.5hrs away from Calgary, so the big city is accessible for weekend or vacation adventures when I am off call. If you love nature and hiking/camping, this is a great place for you, as there are endless places to enjoy and spend time in the great outdoors! The city has lots of amenities and shopping, including a beautiful recreation centre about 5 minutes from home. Everything you need is here!
