Nanny Job in Hamilton, Ontario

Hi There! We have recently moved to the Kirkendall area of Hamilton and are looking for a part-time caregiver for our sweet, sensitive, and super funny 2.5 year old daughter. We are looking for someone 2 days a week to start with the possibility to increase to more days when Baby #2 arrives in April of this year. We are looking for someone to start ASAP but are somewhat flexible about exact start date as well as which days of the week and hours. Our ideal caregiver is familiar with the principles of Attachment Parenting and RIE/mindful parenting, or is interested in learning about these approaches, and has a genuine interest in child development. We are looking for someone who shares our parenting/family values of kindness, empathy, respect, clear direct communication, and gentle/positive discipline. We expect only very light housework (tidying up toys or activities from the day, simple meal and snack prep for our daughter, dishes) as part of the job, and would prefer that you focus your energy on building a positive relationship with our little one, and supporting her development. The role will shift somewhat as we welcome our second daughter in April, and may involve some newborn care, and later on, some time spent caring for both kiddos (however Mom will be home so you would not be expected to be alone with both kids for full days). We hope to create a warm and positive work environment where you feel respected and valued for the important work you do. We have two friendly cats in our home.
