Nanny Job in North Vancouver, British Columbia

Hi! We are a young family of 5 - in Lynn Valley, North Vancouver looking for a live-out nanny for four days a week with full-time hours (we suggest 4 days 10 hours each but this is negotiable). We have two young girls, Elise and Maddie (5 years and 2.5 years), and one boy Finley (15 months). We're a family that loves family, cats (we have two), reading books, banging on a piano, art, dancing, bike-riding, baking, gardening, playing hide-and-seek in the forest and a wide variety of food, among other things. Elise is smart; loves her siblings; is potty-trained and is at kindergarten this year. Maddie is independent; curious; naps once a day; and loves to be active and get into mischief. The parents are professionals with busy jobs. Mom (Julia) likes tea, knitting, quilting and gardening. Dad (Ian) likes soccer, biking, making breakfast and dad jokes. We are looking for a nanny who is a reliable, responsible, caring, fun-loving individual with experience with young children. More specifically, we are looking for a nanny that: • Is reliable and can show up on-time or give advance notice of rescheduling except when unavoidable • Has first aid training (updated in last 3 years) • Has a driver’s license and is comfortable driving kids to activities (such as swim or dance class, Aquarium, Science World etc.) • Enjoys and encourages outdoor play, including in the rain • Can generate creative activities for kids to learn and explore new experiences • Can feed kids meals and do occasional cooking for kids • Performs light household duties (such as tidying after kids, sweeping, loading/unloading dishwasher, kids’ laundry and occasional light grocery shopping) • Can work hours that run about 7:30 am to 5:30 pm Our approach to parenting is to provide our kids with a pretty structured environment as our kids do best with routine and consistent boundaries. Our girls are articulate and intelligent, and we expect them to be polite, to listen and to communicate their needs and feelings without (too much) whining. We are active and like to be outside, but believe that screen-time in moderation is reasonable. Our kids eat a wide variety of food and generally they eat what we eat. We focus on eating full, well-rounded meals without too much snacking, but provide treats fairly frequently. As COVID-19 restrictions ease, we hope to reintroduce structured activities like swim class, ballet, gymnastics and the like (one or two classes a week per child). We have a large house that backs onto Lynn Canyon forest with a really long driveway (excellent for sports and biking), a big vegetable garden, a sizeable lawn, and a big backyard. Indoors is fairly open concept with a dedicated playroom on the main floor and a large finished basement with books and toys everywhere.
