The Gig, starting January 2021: You’ll be a nanny to two sweet toddlers who have been friends since birth. You’ll be based out of a home in Oaklands, with access to a wonderful front yard as well as a double stroller and delightful neighbourhood and parks to explore. Our hope is that you sincerely enjoy connecting with our kids and keep them safe while exploring, playing and learning. Our expectation is that you’ll be able to keep our kids to their rough daily routines that we’ll outline. And that you will come with some plans on how to engage them and have fun! Activities, outings etc. We’ll have lunches and snacks prepared for the little ones. Our expectation is that you don’t do any household chores other than tidying up after lunch/snack and the children during the day. Other than that, we’d like the focus to be on the children. Job Description: - Start Date: beginning of January 2021 (ideally January 11th) - Nanny to 2 young children: a 1-year-old and a 2-year-old (friends, not siblings) - Nannying would be based out of home in Oaklands - Note: first 2-3 months would be out of home in View Royal next to Thetis Lake - Approximately 2 days/week, 8.5 hours/day (likely Mondays & Tuesdays, but negotiable) - Possibility of additional negotiated, irregular hours. Potential to increase to 3 days/week in the spring. - Compensation: $18/hour. Increase to $20 after 3 month probationary period. Must-Haves: - Experience nannying or in a childcare setting (ideally 1 years) - Emergency First Aid for Childcare Certificate, current (we will pay for you to take this course if you don’t have it already, or a recertification) - A basic understanding of child development - Patience, energy and creative communication skills - Must provide a criminal record check Nice-to-Haves: - Degree (or in the process of earning) or diploma in Early Childhood Education or similar - Driver’s License (we don’t need you to drive our children anywhere, regularly, or have a car) How to Apply - Please send application to both Heather & Sophie ([email protected], [email protected]) - Please include:Your availability if different from what we’ve outlined above
