Nanny Job in Toronto, Ontario

We are looking for someone with experience with 7 year olds to provide babysitting with a bit of tutoring for our son. He has a significant expressive speech delay (his receptive language is age appropriate) and currently verbally communicates more like a 3.5-4 year old and therefore has a hard time getting his thoughts out which can lead to frustration and big tears. Our ideal person is familiar or better yet experienced with expressive speech delays and speech therapy and who can understand how to support him, when to push him, when to not, when he will need advocating and prompts and when he doesn’t. He is a cheery happy smiley friendly funny kid who loves to be outside, playing basketball or soccer, bike riding, and jumping at SkyZone more than anything. We are hoping to find our new regular babysitter who can take him on adventures while nurturing his speech language development and learning 2-4 times a month, for 5-7 hours at a time. We have a bigger kid too (12 years) who maybe would want to join in the adventuring sometimes – but is equally unlikely to want to join too because he’s 12. 😊 We are looking for someone who: * Has worked with children with expressive language delays * Experience with speech therapy * Enjoys being out and about and can keep up with a very active 7 year old * Is affectionate - our kid uses a lot of non-verbal ways to communicate and that includes hugs. We are LGBTQ2S allies and are raising our kids to care about social justice and oppression, environmentalism, etc. 🌈 Finally, we are a veg family. We can explain what that means for snacks and whatnot if you don't have experience with veg diets. It’s pretty straightforward. We are located near Danforth and Donlands, a 10 min walk from the subway or the Gerrard streetcar. ⭐️ We would love to find someone who can commit to at least July. ⭐️
