Nanny Job in Edmonton, Alberta

Hello! My name is Rose and our family of 4 (Dad, Mom, 2 children ages 9 and 5) are looking for a babysitter / caregiver / part time nanny that can join our family long term. We live on the South Side of Edmonton, about a 5 minute drive south of the Century Park LRT station (depending on traffic!). We are looking for a caregiver that is able to pick up our 9 year old (grade 4) after school (the school is about a 4 minute slow walk from our house). Our 9 year old would be your primary focus this school year with the odd occasion that our 5 year old is home with the 9 year old on a PD day. Our 5 year old has autism (support is in place, is high functioning). Specific concerns related to the ASD diagnosis surround communication and social relationships. We would love a nanny that would help us maintain strategies to support our 5 year old in a fun manner. Our 5 year old is verbal but has some expressive communication delays, is toilet trained and loves to be active (outside at the playground, riding bikes, etc.). Hours of work will be from 3:00pm - 6:00pm Monday - Friday. We would also need full day help during some school breaks and PD days. Next year (2019-20... school year) you would pick both of our children up from school. We would also sincerely appreciate some help with light housekeeping (no bathrooms! Just the odd sweep or vacuum) and supper preparation, but the children are more important so if this is not done consistently that is okay :). A recent (within 1 month) criminal record check with vulnerable sector check is mandatory and we are willing to pay for / reimburse the cost to the successful candidate. CPR and First Aid are also mandatory. Again, we will pay for / reimburse the cost of these courses to the successful candidate. Early childhood education with a focus on autism or related communication and social challenges would be a huge asset. We will also invite you to meetings with our speech and language support so you have the tools you need to support and coach our 5 year old in communication proficiency. Phew! That is a lot!
