Nanny Job in Cochrane, Alberta

I'm an
Individual
**Must love dogs - we have a 70lb Mastiff puppy (turning 1 on September 14); she is the worst guard dog ever, and loves to snuggle; she is part of the gig - most feedings and potty breaks will be facilitated by us (if we are home), however you will need to be comfortable being supervised by a doggo at all times** I am currently recovering from a cesarean section - our little boy is 3 weeks old (as of 30-Aug-17). This position is more of a "team work makes the dream work" role, as opposed to you working alone in our home, initially. I may be going back to work in an office setting, however that will be in the new year. You will be doing all the "baby lifts", as our very healthy boy is over the weight threshold I'm allowed to carry. My mother is currently helping during the day/night, however we are looking for a long term solution for our family. I am currently at home on maternity leave, and may be going back to work as early as October, or as late as next August - it all depends on some work demands. I could also potentially be working from home as early as October; as my company allowed me that flexibility from November 2016 to August 2017, when I began maternity leave. While you'll be lifting our child for all feeding and burp sessions, the feedings and burps will be shared duties, providing I am at home. The scheduled live out shift will be Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with occasional evening and weekend work being made available, should you choose to pick up extra shifts. Due to my recovery; it is imperative that you are in our home and ready for work at 6:00 AM, as my husband leaves for work at that time. 40 hours per week will be paid at our negotiated rate, with any overtime hours being paid at overtime (negotiated rate multiplied by 1.5) These hours may change to 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM if I go back to work in an office setting in Calgary, as I'll be traveling to/from Calgary with my husband Monday through Friday. Evening and weekend work will be compensated at the overtime rate (agreed hourly rate Monday - Friday and 1.5x's that rate for additional evening and weekend work), and presented to the employee 48 hours in advance. You are not obligated to accept evening or weekend work, however it will be available, and presented with ample notice for your convenience. Duties may include (in addition to others): ◾supervise and guide infant ◾bath and dress infant ◾sterilize bottles, prepare formula and change diapers for infant ◾prepare nutritious meals for the immediate family ◾keep the household clean and tidy ◾washing/drying the laundry ◾organize age appropriate play activities ◾take infant to appointments ◾support the emotional development and well being of the infant ◾perform housekeeping duties ◾take infant to parent/mom/play groups You will work with my supervision in the home, and potentially with zero supervision if I go back to an office setting in the new year. Meal preparation and household cleaning will be very minimal; however you will be required to transport my son and I for biweekly doctor's appointments in Airdrie and Calgary. You will be compensated for gasoline, as well as wear and tear on your vehicle - this will be paid above and beyond your regular rate, on an "as required" basis. We will agree on a wear and tear rate that is comfortable for both parties, and gasoline will be compensated with the current going rates in Cochrane. You must have your own vehicle, a valid driver's license, and minimal demerits on your driver's abstract. You will be required to provide a driver's abstract prior to commencing your employment (upon receiving an offer of employment). You will be reimbursed for the cost of your abstract on your first biweekly paycheque; please retain your receipt from the driver's abstract check. You are also required to have a criminal record check (within the 30 days of application) from your local RCMP detachment. You will be required to provide a criminal record check prior to commencing your employment (upon receiving an offer of employment). You will be reimbursed for the cost of your criminal record check on your first biweekly paycheque; please retain your receipt from the criminal record check. If you're up for heaps of baby snuggles, if you're not afraid of explosive diapers, and you're not worried about rolling up your sleeves at 6:00 AM every day - we want to hear from you! Cheers, Amy
