Letter to Potential Host Family: Greetings! My name is Roxane,I am a qualified 24 year old English teacher with much experience in teaching and caring for children.I have taught all over the world and had plenty opportunity to provide care to students as a teacher and as a friend..... age groupings are mostly between 5-6 and 10 and 12 years old but I have worked with children much younger and older than this.I come from a typical nuclear family with only one younger sister. I am currently working for a Korean Hogwan (academy) and my main duties are to teach and supervise children on a day to day basis. Our normal activities include, playing games, making artwork, doing outdoor activities like riding bikes and swimming.I also supervise their break times and their interaction with other students in order to intervene when I need to (eg:fighting on the playground). All in all I have a very healthy balance between outside activities/sport and indoor activities that require complex thought and brain development. I would like the opportunity to be a Canadian nanny because I feel that it will be an enriching experience not only for me but the children I mentor and care for..... a personal note I also love Canada and would eventually like to settle there as a professor in English or History. I can cook very well and having been cooking for my family back home since I was 12, I love to cook healthy food that is also delicious and tasty, I also have experience caring for my own family at home (mother and father) which included cooking, cleaning, yardwork, supervising my siblings and taking care of the animals.South Africans are very houseproud and tend to take pride in being able to run a happy home. My personality is an odd hybrid between introvert and extrovert, I love to make new friends and socialise, however, I am also content in the quieter things in life such as: reading, writing, watching movies and sketching.I must admit that lately, I favour the quieter things in my spare time, while my teaching life is much more active.I am also an academic,I love to study and love to better my understanding on subjects I might not know anything about. My strengths are: being able to take care of children and ensure that they are happy and protected. Helping children develop their academic skills and bettering grades. Teaching English and History to all ages (I was top of my class for graduation in this degree). Being able to have fun and also be spontaneous . Being responsible and honest in everything I do. Communicating effectively with people without being negative or impolite. What I expect out of my employer: I would like to work for an employer that is decent, fair and respectful, someone who does not look down on their nanny or treat them poorly because they are not native to Canada.I would most like to work for an employer that will communicate effectively with me if there is something to be discussed, if there is an issue to be addressed I will gladly listen but this only works when communication is mutually understood. Thank you for reading this cover letter, Kind Regards, Miss Roxane Scott 1) teaching experience for children from preschool-university (2-19)-I am also a qualified teacher 2)work as a tutor (English and history) 3)work as a Sunday school teacher ages 3-6 4) Working in an international school and academy with ages 11-19 5)Counselling and mentor-ship experience with older children
