Nanny Job in Comox, British Columbia

Hi there my name is Marsha. I am interviewing a nanny. I'm hoping to find a hard working individual with live-out or live-in availability. We have three children my son is 6 going into grade 1. He has autism and some intellectual disabilities. My two daughters are 4 and 2 like to be social. Our family is fairly busy this year and will require at times over night responsibilities..... need an nanny who will be flexible with our schedule. My husband is a Flight Engineer for the Canadian Air Force and fly's with the search and rescue cormorant helicopter. He works shift work and at times will be gone for days. Myself, I work part-time as an addictions and mental health provider. My job requires me to work shift work. I work twelve hour shifts. 8am to 8pm or 8pm to 8am. Some days you will have mornings off and will be required to start working at noon or 2pm. Other times you will have an ordinary 8-4 day. There will be random overnight care when we will both be away through the night. You will always have two full days off a week. Most of the time it will be weekends. I am asking a commitment to the end of February as I am doing a Social Work practicum at the same time as working, which ends in February. There will still be employment after February! Our son will be going into grade 1. School starts at 8:35 and we are a 15 walk from the school and school ends at 2:30pm. Two days a week, Thomas will go to an Autism program at 3pm and will require transportation to and from. Our daughters will be at home all day. I am hoping to put the oldest in dance class and swimming lessons. In January, she will start preschool three hours a day. There is a free children's programing at Thomas' school called Strong Start. With the girls a few days a week I would like you to attend. It is a preschool based program. If you want a particular evening off when we are busy, we will make it work because I want to be flexible and make it comfortable for you as possible. As there are time when Jeff and I might want a night away. We want you to be apart of our family but will respect when you want separation from us. In December, you will have paid vacation from December 22nd to January 6th. Or you can choose to save a week for another time. We do not pay hourly but salary paid out every two weeks. We do this because there will be time you will be required to work 12-14 hours and other days only two or three hours.
