Please read if you meet these requirements**: **Experience with infants under 12 months. This means you understand: - What foods to avoid giving a baby under 12 months - You know the 6 allergens to avoid - Infant vaccination schedules in British Columbia - Safe sleeping according to Baby's best chance in BC - Breast milk safety according to Canadian health guidelines - Teething - Safe sleeping positions - Sunscreen rules - Solid food introductions - Difference between gagging and choking in an infant - Working as a paid full time nanny = qualified experience - Watching a friends baby or babysitting a few hours is NOT experience for us Hello there! Our family is currently in need of a full-time live-out nanny to take care of our 8 month infant in west end Vancouver, British Columbia. We are offering $22.-25 hourly PLUS dental benefits and THREE *WEEK paid vacation and are looking for someone who is passionate about working with young children. Key areas are nap time feeding and safe play. As working parents, we value the importance of finding the right person to provide a safe and nurturing environment for our little one. The baby is very sweet and adventurous. He enjoys climbing and eats well. He has no known allergies. Having fluent English is a must and we value local Nannie’s living in Canada. The hours we need are 8am-4pm at least four days a week. We offer three weeks paid vacation. We are set up for payroll through Livlihood. This is gaurunteed hours. Nanny should have a good work life balance and know when to rest as this is a physically demanding job. We want our Nannie’s to be healthy and rested and we offer a home that is clean safe and convenient. The job involves : Changing diapers Sticking to the approved feeding schedule Cleaning up after the baby Sanitizing bottles Sanitizing work areas and toys Caring for baby stroller and toys Preparing baby food Returning baby home to mother well fed happy and clean. An example schedule: 7:30: Arrive and start your day with a tea or coffee! 8:00: Begin tidying rooms and sanitizing bottles 8:30: Check Mom's preference. 8:30: Mom finishes feeding baby and help her pack pumps for work 9am - 10am: Change diaper. Wind down and 1 hour nap. Prepare breakfast snack 10am - 10:30am: Mat time and safe play 10:30am - change diaper 10:45am- you and baby have lunch 11:30 -2pm: stroller time and second nap 2pm: change diaper and play 2:30pm: milk and snack 3pm: clean food area, put away toys, tidy home 3:30: end of shift Finishing a shift where the mother has to clean up the bottles, change a dirty diaper and pack away toys would be an example of what we are trying to avoid. We understand the job is very hard and yes, there is cleaning but just after the baby. We don’t need a maid but the nanny understands this is not just a babysitting job. You are working in our home so we would require you to treat it like a professional place of work and keep the home the same way it was when you started. We believe Nannie’s are valuable and we want to ensure you make time to eat and stay hydrated. We always pay on time and are very flexible so you have time off for personal care or vacation. We want songs to be in English as much as possible. The mother does work from home from time to time but usually we are both out the house during business hours. The ideal candidate for this position will have previous experience working with infants and be able to create a stimulating and age-appropriate setting. We are seeking someone who is reliable, patient, and has a genuine love for childcare. The nanny will be responsible for feeding, diaper changes, engaging in developmental activities, and maintaining a consistent routine for our infant. We believe this job should be compensated $35 per hour but the reason it’s less is because our salaries are very small and we live in an expensive city. Cost of living has forced us to keep costs low but if we could manage to increase your wage via a salary increase we will notify you right away. If you are interested in joining our family as a nanny, please feel free to send us a message with your qualifications and availability. We look forward to hearing from dedicated individuals who are excited about the opportunity to become an integral part of our child's early years.
