Nanny Job in Edmonton, Alberta

We're two families made up of 5 kids, one puppy, one rabbit and 4 working parents that are all good friends. Our kids go to the same school. We live in the Callingwood/Westridge area in West Edmonton. For the past year we have had an excellent relationship with a nanny, who worked for one family in the AM and the other family in the PM. Unfortunately, our current nanny has left the city, so we're in search of someone who can help fill these sizable shoes. Family-AM: * Two children 7 & 9. * Need help getting kids up, dressed, and taken to school in the mornings. * Help walking and carrying for puppy (and dropping him off and grandparents' house for the day) * Preparing lunches, meal prep, keeping the house tidy, helping with kids' laundry, etc. Family-PM: * Three children ranging from 4-9 * Need help in the afternoon getting kids home from school. * Dinner prep, keeping the house tidy, helping with kids' laundry, etc. The most important part of the job is working with the kids. It makes up about a third to half of a typical day. We are looking for someone who can bond and have fun with kids, show enough discipline to keep them listening and on time, and be patient when they decide to "be kids". Getting kids to and from school is a part of this job, so punctuality is critical. We both live within several blocks of the school. On a nice day, walking/biking is an option, but driving is required for winter days or 'camp' days. You will be able to use a family vehicle. There is a shared agreement between families that childcare trumps all other tasks. If a child is sick or stuck at home for some reason, then all the hours can go towards caring for that child. We’re all working parents, so life gets pretty busy. Beyond childcare, we're looking for an organized individual who can help keep our homes running smoothly. Preparing lunches for the next day, dinner prep, tidying up and organizing the children's stuff, children's laundry, etc. General "home helper" tasks. The specifics will be worked out with each family individually. Hours: 30-40 hours per week are negotiable. The hard requirement is a 7am start at Family-AM so the parents can depart for work on time every day and picking the kids up on time from school for Family-PM. The hours spent on housework are much more flexible. The previous nanny would work from 7-11am, take a few hour break and lunch, and continue 2:30-5:30pm. We're open to your thoughts.
