Nanny Job in Waterloo, Ontario

JOB DESCRIPTION AND TASKS My husband and I are two professionals who truly value and appreciate the people who help us out! We have always treated our babysitters and nannies very well, and it is important to us that they be happy and respected. We have two loving, kind, curious, and sensitive kids aged 8 (boy) and 10 (girl), as well as a cuddly 20lb hypoallergenic poodle. We are stretched very thin trying to 'do it all' and looking for some help from someone who enjoys and is good with kids, and also other household tasks. In terms of practical things that we could use help with, some examples include: - picking up kids from school and driving them to activities (once a week, maybe more) - babysitting kids for an evening or weekend afternoon so that we can go out the two of us for some kid-free time - coming up with outings/fun activities to do with the kids, keeping in mind their interests and personalities - doing laundry - doing meal prep (e.g., chopping vegetables, cooking pasta) - washing dishes/kitchen - running basic errands - walking the dog (optional) QUALIFICATIONS AND ASSETS A few things that are especially important to us are: (1) someone patient and kind that our kids can form a relationship with, and one where they feel understood, connected, and valued (2) someone who is reliable and communicates well, and doesn't mind sending updates about how things are going with the kids (3) someone with initiative, who is able to have a general sense of what needs to be done around the house and can just take the initiative to do those things (e.g., noticing when the laundry hampers are full and doing the laundry without prompting) In your letter, please mention your experience with any of the following assets for the job: Most important: - Experience, enjoyment, and education related to babysitting school-aged kids, including children with neurodivergence - CPR/first aid - Police check - Driver’s license and access to a car - Experience cooking and with household tasks like laundry and cleaning Added perks: - Speaking and reading French - Playing the piano or another instrument - Experience looking after dogs HOURS/TIME COMMITMENT We are ideally looking for someone for a couple of afternoons (and perhaps early evenings) per week, and also with some weekend day/evening availability. WAGES The wage is negotiable and will be dependent on education, experience, and the tasks you are able to help out with.
