Nanny Job in Halifax, Nova Scotia

We are Catherine and Alex, a university instructor and industrial electrician, seeking an experienced and caring nanny to care for our single infant son. We are looking for someone able to work 2-3 days per week, beginning in January/February 2025 (flexible start date). We can offer a position for either a live-in or live-out nanny. We are willing to compensate at $20.00 hourly. We are looking for someone who is available for full-day work (8am-5pm) every Thursday and Friday, plus a half-day (4hrs) on either Monday or Tuesday, and the occasional evening (2hrs), from January/February 2025 until May 2025. The ideal candidate will have experience caring for infants and possess valid CPR/infant first aid certification and vulnerable sector checks. Fluency in either French, Italian, or Hungarian would be considered an asset. Duties will include providing attentive, age-appropriate care to our 7-to-8-month old child and, possibly, light meal preparation (likely only lunch/snacks for yourself and our child, during the day, while we're at work). We do not expect assistance with housework or pet care, although we have two cats so it would be important for our nanny not to be allergic to cats.
