I need someone physically strong and happy to do housework as well - this is so I can provide you with more steady hours and work. Weekends and evenings are needed, so if you aren't open to any, don't apply. (NO Bussing to our neighbourhood.). Community is close to South Calgary and Okotoks, AB. Part time or Full time Primary care would be for a 9 year old girl with special needs.. She is happy and busy. Play therapy, getting her outside, playing ball, dancing, helping her exercise....etc. She walks, but has mobility/strength challenges and is in diapers. Her medical needs can be taught to someone that is not intimidated or grossed out by medical things. she has a Tracheostomy and G-tube, but eats normal food orally. She is prone to weight gain, so healthy high protein, low starch/carb food is a priority for us. I can teach that. Background in healthcare is an asset, but not required. An aptitude to learn it, is required. She doesn't speak, but communicates through some basic signs and gestures. It doesn't take long for caregivers to communicate with her. She's expressive. Caregiver needs to be a Playful, Cheerful, and Patient. Intelligence is an asset to problem solve issues that arise. Reliability, Professionalism, and strong work ethic are a must. A caregiver that is comfortable driving is an asset, but not required. There will be times I need caregiver to work longer days for a week or weekend.
