Nanny Job in Halifax, Nova Scotia

Hello! Our family of 4 is looking for an experienced childcare worker to do occasional babysitting for our lovely twins, Olive and Amos. We are ideally looking for someone who can do ongoing date-night coverage every other week, and some casual sitting as things arise in our lives - especially holiday daycare closures or sick days. We hope to build a long-lasting relationship with a wonderful sitter who can be with us as the twins grow. A little light housework and picking up after the twins is always welcomed, but not required. We’d be looking for meal prep for them if you’re with them during the day. For evening sits, feel free to kick back after they go to bed. About the twins: Olive and Amos were born in October, 2021. They're happy, sweet little toddlers that love a good snuggle, reading books, and love new people. They're playful, active little beans that love to go on outings, colouring, snacking and just running laps around our apartment. They’re on a pretty consistent routine with one afternoon nap a day (1.5-2 hours around 12:30pm) and a 7:30 bedtime. They generally go to sleep without issue, and sleep through the night. They’ve been off bottles for some time, and love a bunch of different kinds of food. They’re still in diapers (we use cloth), but they love to practice using the potty. Both are talking, and pretty good at communicating what they need. About us: Shawn and I are a couple in our 30's with no other kids. We both work full time in the nonprofit sector with a mix of working from home and at our offices. As parents, we are a touch granola, but easygoing people who would be thrilled to hire a student. The only thing that we are not negotiable on is vaccine status. We kindly ask that anyone caring for our twins have up to date COVID-19 vaccines and preferably flu shots - they are immune comprised as former preemies, so this is very important to us and for their health. We would like to hire someone that can work out of our apartment in the North End of Halifax, and is comfortable with cats - we have a cuddly but sometimes grumpy senior cat.
