Nanny Job in Windsor, Ontario

POSITION: If you are a professional healthcare worker or an experienced caregiver looking to make a huge difference for a heroic teenage boy this may be a perfect fit for you. The job is to work with a kind, sweet, intellectually curious, disabled and gentle 15 year old boy with a rare genetic condition. He is non-verbal, his mobility must be supervised, and his rare condition affects his metabolism and requires him to be on a strict diet. He needs assistance with all personal care and hygiene. He has a great sense of humour, can be very quiet on his Ipad or watching TV or looking through books, or he can be active and happy. The best caregiver will encourage him as he learns new things, and be attentive to his creative communications. YOUR QUALITIES: You have experience in Nursing or as a Personal Support Worker or as a Nanny or an Early Childhood Educator. You are detail-oriented in following instructions because you understand the instructions are important for health. Your are kind and conscientious. You have real-life experience with young people, and you do not try to impose a theory on a person, but you get to know the individual human being and work with them and their individual needs. You are playful, and maybe you like to dance. You are interested in cognitive and physical development opportunities for the person you are caring for. Your are professional, honest and trustworthy. You have the wisdom to understand the many things going on for a family with health care needs, and so you show up as a respected professional to provide stellar care for their teen boy. You understand how important your job is to the lives of others and you take pride in doing your job well. You have a vulnerable sector clearance or demonstrated experience in sector, and you have excellent references. DUTIES - meal prep - personal care, personal hygiene (includes teeth, toiletting/pull-ups/cleaning), showering - safety and supervision especially on steps or stairs, when drinking or eating - play as exercise - little dancing or gentle movements - depending on experience, walks in front yard or inside house - light housekeeping - his laundry, cleaning up after meals or play or personal care - water for pets - small dog and small cat - sleep all day - pack school kit day before TIMES During school year - 230pm-630pm (part-time - can discuss F/T) and preferrably Saturdays. During the summer Full-Time Monday-Friday, and preferrably Saturdays . ATTRACTIVE SALARY for the qualified candidate.
