Nanny Job in Toronto, Ontario

Looking for a part-time nanny/babysitter to be a companion and provide friendship for a 12 year old boy with Autism. Responsibilities include: -Spending time talking with him, playing with him, keeping him company in whatever he wants to do -He enjoys listening to music, talking, swimming, animals -we have a pool in the backyard that is all shallow water - if you can swim with him when he's comfortable (therefore, it's best if you're comfortable swimming) -Being creative in enticing him into play -helping him with eating (getting snacks, etc) -helping him develop more life self-care skills as he is willing -we already have a full time nanny, who will be here to help out if needed Days/Hours required: Monday to Friday from 10am to 12:30pm (some flexibility on end time would be ideal). Looking for someone to commit to 6 months to a year at least. Also, options to extend hours if it goes well. If available some weekends too, then this would be great. Skills required: -loving, patient person who loves to be with kids and especially special needs kids -does not pressure child, instead finds creative ways to get child interested in play -is very calm and patient and can handle emotional regulation challenges like meltdowns and anger with a calm, patient and loving demeanour -is fun loving and young at heart...He is really looking for someone to be a friend to him -has experience spending time and taking care of kids on the autism spectrum -can swim and is willing to swim with him if he's interested -can be ok with a child who needs to have a lot of control and is able to help him feel safe -Please note: ABA will NOT be used with my son...Only connection based strategies will work with him. -Criminal record check will be required -First Aid Certificate and CPR ideal to have too
