Nanny Job in Squamish, British Columbia

I'm an
Individual
Full-Time live-In Nanny for 3 children, ages: 9, 5, and 2 years old. START DATE: June/July 2023 I would like to introduce our family, the area we live in, and our lifestyle to you. I will start with myself; I am Jessica, the mum, the wife, the nurse, the friend, the athlete, the artist, and much more. I welcome you to get to know me once you are our Au Pair, I am known for being an “open book” personality and I enjoy becoming great friends with the AuPairs who work with us. I am a Registered Nurse at Squamish General Hospital and work in Obstetrics and Medical/Surgical. I love my job so much, it is one of the most rewarding aspects of my life. I work 12 hour shifts, days shifts and night shifts. My schedule rotates on a 16 week cycle and changes by 1-2 days every week, which I love because I always have different days off and can make the most of each week. My passions are; mountain biking and snowboarding, both of which I used to do competitively, besides that I love art, and getting active any other way I can such as hiking, swimming in our local lakes, and working out in our home gym. I love eating healthy and I enjoy cooking. I am known for being fun-loving, easy-going, and always making people laugh. My husband Ben; the best dad, the amazing husband, the dedicated friend, the engineer, the athlete, the family man, and much more. Ben and I are perfectly complemented, where I am less, he is more, where I am more, he is less. With that said we make a perfect team. He has a great sense of humour and loves to get out into the mountains and have fun. His passions are; mountain biking, snowboarding, camping, enjoying the lakes, fishing, hiking, and just getting out into nature. Ben works just 5 minutes away, he has the luxury of being able to bike to work in the summer! Ben works Monday to Thursday/Friday. In the summer Ben works 7am- 3:30pm, and 8am -4:30pm in the winter. Ben has the same view as me when it comes to an Au Pair, we both hope they will spend time with us outside of work and become another part of the family. Our first child is Kye, 9 years old, is a full of life, active little boy. Kye is super witty and funny! He loves biking, skiing, hiking, dirtbiking, and spending time at the lakes. In his down time he enjoys watching movies, doing puzzles, reading and art. Kye is going into Grade 5 in September 2023 and his school is only about a block away. His favourite food is spaghetti and candy..."not together" he says. Our second child is Eyla, a 4.5 year old beautiful little girl. I know I am bias, but this little girl is the most loving little person I have ever encountered. She makes friends easily and is very fun to look after. Her favourite things to do is play outside, go to the pool, play with her stuffies, and snuggle while watching a movie. Our third child is Syrsha, an absolutely adorable, fun and adventurous 1.5 year old. She loves animals, playing outside and in the house. We have two super friendly and loving dogs; Kobe (white Labrador) and Brewer (black Labrador) and an even more friendly cat named Tuna. Our home is a single family dwelling and the Au Pair’s room is very private off the garage. The garage has been converted to be livable space, with a living room/kids zone area and an amazing home gym that the Au Pair will have access to if desired. We can do a video tour once we are openly talking with a potential Au Pair. Your duties would be: -Taking care of the kids is your main duty, they are our number one concern when we are both working. We want them happy, healthy, and have the feeling that they are being taken care of, and loved. I will be off on maternity leave still up until the the end of November or early December and will put a great deal of time into training our new Au Pair so you feel comfortable once I go back to work. Once I am back to work in December 2022, hours will be more. -Light cleaning consists of; tidying mess from preparing meals (we have a dishwasher, so dishes are made easy- just loading and unloading), doing the kid’s laundry once a week, a quick vacuum of the livingroom/kitchen area of the main floor of the house once a day on work days (usually only takes me 15min), tidying toys and/or crafts from activities you do with the kids. -Sometimes you will be needed to get groceries for the family, but it will be rare. -Drive kids to and from appointments, activities and play dates. We live in a town of about 21,000 people, it is a very nice town, loads of shops, restaurants, and tourist attractions. The nearest large city to us is Vancouver BC, Canada, which is one of the largest cities in Canada. Vancouver is a 45-60 minute drive depending on where in the city you are going. The family frequently goes to Vancouver for activities and it is easy to find people to venture to the city if you want to go on your days off. Another town near by is Whistler BC, Canada, the largest Ski Resort in North America and a HUGE tourist destination, it is only 30 minutes from us. The family skis there in the winter, and bikes there in the summer. There again, are load of shops, award winning restaurants, festivals, events, art shows, clubs, you name it in both Whistler and Vancouver. We are nestled right in the middle of both so you can enjoy both, and get the benefit of what Squamish has to offer! My mum lives on Vancouver Island, in a town called Victoria (Capital City of BC), where she owns a horse stable, the family frequently visits and our Au Pair would be more than welcome to join. Please google Squamish and see some of its beauty, if only in pictures for now. We hope you like our family and are excited to be a part of our life. We are looking for someone for a minimum of 6 months. The job entails childcare, with cooking and some light cleaning. We are a very caring, fun-loving, adventurous family. We like our nannies to become part of the family. We offer $16-$17 per hour to start depending on your experience and offer opportunity to increase your wage within a few months. We offer paid holiday time and paid sick days. We subsidize rent and groceries!! Please contact for more details around pay. We mainly hire Nanny's who are planning to come to Canada on an IEC Visa, however we are open to sponsoring individuals through the Home Child Care Provider Pilot program.
