Seeking a Part-Time House Manager/Nanny to Start Immediately: We are seeking a part-time house manager/nanny to assist our busy family of five. Our eldest boy is 7 years old, and we have identical twins who are 4 years of age. The eldest is enrolled in grade 2, while the twins are in daycare. The hours for the position are flexible for the ideal person. More details below. The successful candidate will be expected to: *Pick up the eldest child from school (located on the East Van/Burnaby border) each day at 3:05 PM sharp *Prepare dinner for the family *Pack lunches for the children to take the next day *Spend quality time with the eldest child until dinner *Assist the 7-year-old with daily homework for 30 minutes - subjects may include reading, writing, math, spelling and French *Complete tasks related to the children such as doing their laundry, washing dishes, updating the weekly calendar, organizing the house, creating meal plans & grocery lists for the upcoming week, etc. *Assist with scheduling and pick up or drop off the children for weekly activities *Help with home organization, particularly with the children's clothing, toys, etc. *Wash dinner dishes and tidy the kitchen Possible shifts could be any of the following, or some combo that works best for you: Preferred hours would be 1-2 PM until 6:30-7 PM, 3-4 days per week, with the option to work shorter shifts occasionally on weekends. Different hours may apply during holidays. The shift options are flexible, and we can discuss arrangements that suit your schedule. However, the absolute requirement is the candidate’s availability to pick up our eldest from school at 3 PM and engage with him until 6 PM, with hours available before or after that for meal preparation and helping around the house. On one day each week, we would need you to pick up the twins early from daycare, arrange a fun activity with all three children, or take them swimming until dinner time. We can be quite flexible and we're open either to one person undertaking all the shifts or a combination of part-time workers covering the week! Message me and let's chat about what works for you. The role will consist of approximately 20-28 hours each week, spread over 4 days. There is potential for extra hours or daytime shifts when children are off from school or daycare during holidays or when they are home sick. The ideal candidate for this role will be: *Reliable, punctual and available for work *Extremely organized *Efficient *Calm and patient *Clear and direct when communicating *Child-friendly! *Understanding toward positive parenting while maintaining boundaries *Comfortable working when kids are home sick *Experience working with a child with ADHD inattentive type is considered an asset We require the candidate to: *Hold a First Aid/CPR certification *Possess a driver's license (ownership of a car would be a plus, but we can provide one for use as required) *Have a clean criminal record and driving record *Can provide three references from childcare settings The compensation package is competitive, and can be discussed based on your experience, qualifications, and educational background. About our family: The father is an engineer and the mother owns a business in the non-profit sector. She works from home (upstairs). Our eldest son enjoys dirt biking, science, nature, and cats. He adores science experiments and learning about the world around him, being very inquisitive. He has ADHD, specifically inattentive type, and takes medication to assist with this. The twins are full of energy and usually very happy. They’re independent, good-natured, and fun. Twin A is highly intelligent, slightly mischievous, and a people pleaser, while Twin B is kind-hearted, caring, a bit goofy and has his own rhythm. We have one cat.
