Looking for: Nanny/ECE Start Date: Immediately Location: Queen & Chinguacousay, Brampton, Ontario TTC Accessible: No, accessible by GO to Brampton GO with 30 minute walk from the station Ages of the Children: 3 year old boy (in daycare full-time), 18 month old girl Live-In or Live-Out: Preferably Live-Out, Potential for Live-In Hours & Days Required: 8 hour days, 5 days weekly (Monday - Friday) Hourly Rate: TBD, negotiable depending on experience and qualification *REQUIREMENTS: - Having own vehicle is preferred; however, I do not expect help with running errands outside or transporting the children anywhere. - ECE certified or similar education/experience - Infant CPR and First Aid trained - Experience with infants and toddlers - Criminal background check - Fluent in written and spoken English *DUTIES: - Child Care (Feeding, Diapering, Naps, Changing Clothes) and potentially supporting with Potty Training - Plan and carry out age appropriate activities and learning with preference to Montessori philosophy (mom rotates toys and books on shelves regularly, lots of arts and crafts options for setup including painting and playdough, lots of indoor climbing and sensory activities available) - Outdoor time daily (weather permitting, large backyard for play or walks around the neighbourhood) - Food prep, cleaning, chores related to kids only (includes cloth diaper laundry) - Basic housework to keep the kitchen and family room tidy as a safe space for the kids. Housework to be completed during naptime. Other duties (light housework including sweeping, mopping, wiping down certain areas) will only be assigned if my son if my daughter is asleep or there are other plans. Otherwise, the priority should be the kids 🙂 We are looking for someone who is warm, patient, fun, and energetic. Our family is high-energy and we love to have fun. Our house has basically been converted into different playrooms everywhere. Montessori/RIE/Waldorf principles are applied in the house and this is pretty important to us in terms of how we communicate in our home. Preference will be given to those who understand how to apply these principles or are open to learning them with us. Our priority with a nanny is someone who will spend time with our children and focus on their safety and development through active and creative play. We want our daughter to feel safe and loved in the hands of another caregiver. Our daughter is very active and started walking at 9 months and has not stopped running since. She loves to be independent and I am looking for someone who will foster this in her. She likes to put on her own clothes and set the table and enjoys helping around the house. She loves to climb and go outside and she can communicate her basic needs as she knows many words at this point. She also has a high comprehension for her age. She can play well independently and enjoys figuring things out on her own. Our son is currently in full-time care and is usually home around 4:30pm. Our son has a lot of energy and loves to paint, play with his cars and trucks, play with water indoors or outdoors, and ride his bike. He is able to communicate quite well and we try to nurture his independence. He loves to set his own table, help to prepare food, and help with all cleanup processes. He is very empathetic and sensitive and everyone says he's a constant joy to be around. Most likely, there will not be care required for him unless there are school closures. After school care might be required. Both parents work from home and like to take breaks between meetings or during lunch to come play with the kids. Hope we can make something work!
