Nanny Job in Victoria, British Columbia

Hello potential Mary Poppins! We are searching for a fun nanny 3 days a week in the Fairfield area (near Moss/Richardson) - part time approx. 20-25 hours/week. We are a flexible family seeking care for three young children - our daughter is 6, our niece is 5 and our son is 3 years old. They are all lots of fun and full of hilarious energy! We've lived all over the world in recent years and moved back to Victoria to finally put down some roots. We’re looking for a local nanny who can help 3 days/week - ideally Wednesday, Thursday and Friday - approximately 11-5pm or 12-6pm. Can also offer some casual babysitting hours on occasional weekends/evenings too if interested. Looking for someone who could start in September 2023 and who is available all year. My husband works in renewable energy and is away often. I teach French Immersion part-time with the Victoria School district. The kids all attend walkable preschool/schools close by. They love to play around home and at our nearby parks. We try to get outside lots and love exploring in our neighborhood and beyond. We're hoping to find a nature loving nanny who is keen to spend time outdoors in all weather, who enjoys goofy little people, who is comfortable preparing basic meals, making the odd magic potion, baking some cookies or planning mini adventures. Our ideal 'Mary Poppins' would help with regular afternoon childcare; from crafts, reading stories, exploring outside, simple meal prep, limiting screen time, to tidying up with the kids, helping with simple home tasks and walking to school/preschool pickups. Finding someone who is organized, flexible and who can balance fun and silliness along with setting boundaries would be our dream. This would be an ideal position for anyone in central Victoria as we’re in Fairfield and super close to several bus routes, downtown, bike lanes and easy street parking. Everything is walking distance so a driver's license is helpful but not a requirement. The kids are great bikers and we have buggies for all occasions if anyone gets tired! The kids love being out and about. They're happy to help with grocery shopping, watch construction crews or simply "play toys" at home. Over the years, I myself have nannied for many families, so we understand how important finding the right fit can be. We have been really fortunate to have had wonderful relationships with our previous childcare providers. They have been super special in our lives and we're still in touch.
