Nanny Job in Whistler, British Columbia

Job Description: My husband and I are busy professionals who live and work in Whistler, and we are seeking a trusted nanny/au pair to care for our three young children. We have a 4 year old son, a 3 year old daughter and a 1 year old son. We are an adventurous family and enjoy spending time together. We love to snowboard, bike, hike, travel, picnic, swim, play board games, and travel together. This would ideally start from October onwards. We can do live in or live out. We have a spare room to offer live in for the right candidate. This job will include general child care duties, including light housework, meal prep and basic helping out around the home. Our two older children also attend day care/bike camp a couple of days a week to keep things fun and social for them so you wouldn’t have all three kids every day. Hours and days are negotiable but we would require help most mornings to help the children get ready for the day- getting dressed, making and feeding breakfast, packing lunches etc. Then during the days we work we would want help with minding the children, along with meal prep and light housework etc during down times. During the day this may include taking the children to the library, play groups, the lake/ beach/ playgrounds. Playing with them outside for helping to develop their gross motor skills. Also lots of creative play, including art and crafts, drawing and painting, music and dance, etc. While we would provide the equipment, we would expect the nanny to help with facilitating creative play. Facilitating nap times for our baby in the early afternoon is also important and knowing how to feed and change a baby. All our children, including the baby, sleep through the night. Our oldest two are potty trained. We live in Brio- which is very close to Whistler village and the base of Whistler mountain- a quick 10-15 minute walk into town (or a 2 min drive). Our home is a cozy 4 bedroom Austrian-style chalet. We have an awesome yard for play time! A flat sunny grassed and fenced backyard, a playground, trampoline, vegetable gardens, a hot tub and a large deck. Our street is quiet as it is a couldersac so great for riding bikes on. We try our best to be a screen free family and hope a nanny is cool to do this also. We travel regularly both domestically and internationally to visit family, for work, or pleasure, so would want a nanny who would be willing to come with us on some trips to help care for the children. For this reason a passport and full vaccination status is essential. Other times when we travel and wont need our nanny will be a chance for you to have your own vacation time. On the occasional weekend when I am away for business, the work week would change to be an extra help for my husband over those weekends. We can offer you: your own bedroom, a semi private bathroom next to the bedroom, competitive salary, travel opportunities, and a chance to live in one of the most beautiful towns in Canada. Whistler is a world class ski resort in the winter and the #1 mountain bike park in the summer. Unlimited adventure and breath taking views abound. Housing is very expensive and hard to even find in Whistler so we can offer a bedroom if needed. We would expect a nanny to be experienced with babies and young children, reliable, safety conscious, efficient and good at planning activities and crafts, hygienic and tidy, fun and enjoy playing with kids, enjoy spending time outside, and generally easy to get along with. We would also expect our nanny/ au pair to be comfortable with living with a Christian family and the values that we hold. We go to church most Sunday mornings. A shared belief is not expected but needs to be respected. We mention this as it's important to us and want you to know in case this is something you wouldn't be comfortable with.
