Nanny Job in Burlington, Ontario

Hello! We are an easy going family living in Burlington and are looking for a reliable, loving, experienced caregiver for occassional help with our two boys, ages five and three. It's a part-time live-out position. Currently we would need help for five hours a week (day is flexible) and a few weekday evenings or weekend evenings/afternoons a month. A student looking for part-time income or a nanny looking for some extra hours would be perfect. We have two sitters who we love, but they are finishing up their teaching degrees and are rarely available when we need help. We don't have family here to help us and are dependent on reliable outside care. Ideally it would be someone who would have more weekday availability come summer time. We would also love to have someone we felt comfortable doing an occassional overnight, maybe even traveling with us (but neither is required). Although it's part-time, it's important we have someone who is kind and easy going and who can build a trusting relationship with our boys. They are a lot of fun but also a lot of energy and time. Our oldest has had some challenges the last couple of years and was recently diagnosed with ADHD. There are a lot of misunderstandings around the disorder so we would like someone that is familiar or can educate themselves. He's super bright and can make strong attachments to adults, but he needs patience understanding of his limitations and development, a loving nature and also boundaries. We have a dog and three cats, but there would rarely if ever be anything you needed to do for them. Experience working with children and a nurturing demeanor is a must! Again it's part-time, but those interacting regularly with our boys are important to us and have an impact on their little minds. I was a nanny for ten years, often felt like part of the family, and my relationships with many of my kiddos and their families are still very strong. We'd love the same!
