Part-Time Nanny & Family Helper — Evenings Weekend Mornings (Calgary, Renfrew) We're a Calgary family with two children ages 1 and 4 looking for a reliable, warm part-time nanny to help us out on evenings and weekend mornings. This is a long-term role for the right person, and we'd like to build it up slowly so everyone gets comfortable. Schedule Some weekday evenings ([approx. 4–8pm], typically [1–2] nights a week) Saturday and (some) Sunday mornings through early afternoon ([approx. 7 am–2 pm]) Roughly 12-20 hours a week to start, with room to grow if it's a good fit Occasional travel with us on family vacations (a few times a year, entirely optional and discussed well in advance) We'd start with a few shorter shifts while we're home so you can get to know the kids and we can get to know you. Once everyone's settled, we'd move into the regular schedule. What you'd be doing With the kids: - Preparing and setting up their meals and snacks - Playing with them, reading, and keeping them engaged - Bath and bedtime routine on evening shifts - Tidying up after activities and meals Around the house: - Laundry (washing, folding, putting away) - General light housekeeping, mostly kitchen and common areas - Meal prep for the family — this is a big plus for us and we're happy to pay accordingly for someone who's genuinely good at it What we're looking for: - Experience caring for young children, with references we can call - Your own vehicle and a valid driver's licence (we're not able to arrange pickup) - Comfortable, patient, and self-directed — someone who notices what needs doing - Non-smoking - Legally able to work in Canada Nice to have - A second language you speak comfortably with the kids (Spanish especially, but we're open) — a real asset for us - Current First Aid and Infant/Child CPR - Clear criminal record and vulnerable sector check (we'll cover the cost if you don't have a recent one) - Confident cook who can put together a week of family meals What we offer - $25/hour, paid biweekly by e-transfer (or we're open to other methods) - Paid trial shifts while we're all getting comfortable - On travel: all expenses covered, your own room, and hours agreed in writing beforehand - A friendly, low-drama household — we're not looking for perfection, just someone we can count on To apply Send a short note about yourself, your experience with kids around 1-6, your general availability, and two references.
