Overview: I'm looking a child care provider to look after my two-year old daughter for two to three days a week. My daughter is sweet, silly, and bright. She loves to play outside, run around, bake, paint, draw, among many other things. She can be slow to warm, but if you're the right candidate, she will likely grow quite attached to you. We would benefit from a caregiver who is smart, warm, playful, and can hold firm boundaries when necessary. Our family has strong values, and we'd like to pass these on to our daughter as well. We are a feminist family, and we strive to be anti-racist. The ideal candidate will help us pass these values down to our daughter. We have high standards for what we're looking for in a caregiver, and the ideal candidate will also have high standards in what they're looking for in a family. We want you to feel valued as our daughter's caregiver. Services And Training: We would benefit from caregiving that starts as soon as possible. The best possible applicant would have over two years of experience, is safety-conscious, and is able to play and engage with a toddler in a way that encourages her development. The ideal candidate would hold: 1) a First Aid certificate; 2) a CPR (including choking training) certificate; and 3) relevant child care training and/or experience. The best applicant also understands the various stages of toddler development and can help her develop in age-appropriate ways. Knowledge of gentle parenting techniques as well as knowledge of effective techniques for helping our toddler develop her emotional intelligence is necessary. However, a willingness to learn these techniques is also appreciated, and we will work with you to help you develop these skills and learn these techniques. We encourage activities such as baking, playing at the park, playing outside, singing and dancing, free play and crafting. If you'd like to introduce my daughter to a new activity, we'd welcome all suggestions. We are, of course, happy to provide supplies for all activities. Covid and Vaccinations We are fully vaccinated, and we do expect our child care provider to be as well. However, we encourage all applicants to apply, as long as you are willing to become fully vaccinated.
