Salary: Hourly: minimum $11.25 for 40.0 hours per week Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible Terms of Employment: Permanent Full-Time, Day Number of Positions: 1 Employer: Vettese Family Job Requirements: Languages: English Education: Completion of high school Credentials: (certificates, Licenses, Memberships, courses, etc.) First Aid Certificate, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years Children’s Ages: Toddler to pre-school (1-3 years); Kindergarten age (4-5 years) Work Setting: Employer’s Home Specific Skills: • Supervise and care for children in employer’s residence • Dress, and feed infants and children • Change diapers for toddler • Plan, prepare and serve meals for children • Perform light housekeeping duties • Oversee children’s activities, such as meals, rest periods as instructed by employer • Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home • Instruct children in person hygiene • Tend to the emotional well-being of children and support their social development. • Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents • Organize and participate in activities such as games, crafts, reading and outings • Take children to and from school and appointments • Keep records of daily activities and health information regarding each child • Assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents Security and Safety: Criminal record check; child abuse registry check Work location Information: Work in employer’s home, located in Milton Ontario (Major Intersection: Derry and Santa Maria Blvd.) Essential Skills: Reading text, document use; writing; communication; Working with others; problem solving; decision making; critical thinking; job task planning and organizing Other Information: Optional accommodations available at no charge on a live-in basis.
