We’re looking for a nanny to provide in-home childcare to our 18-month old son. You will be working out of our home in mid-town Toronto (Yonge & Summerhill). This is a permanent, full-time position, based on 40 hours per week, with occasional overtime. Position You will be responsible for providing a safe, caring, nurturing, and stimulating environment in which our son can grow and develop. Your duties will include the following: • Assume full responsibility for child’s physical and emotional well-being in absence of parents; • Bathe and dress child, and change diapers; • Prepare and serve nutritious meals; • Read to, play games with, and entertain child; • Plan age-appropriate activities that will support the child’s overall development, including cognitive, language/speech, social, emotional, and motor skills; • Organize and oversee outings; • Transport child to and from appointments, play dates, and other outings; • Potty train, when appropriate, and provide personal hygiene instruction; • Shop for food and household supplies; • Perform light housekeeping duties and laundry; and • Ensure the child’s health and safety at all times while under your care. Qualifications We’re looking for an in-home nanny who can meet all of the following requirements: • At least one (1) year of in-home childcare experience; • Experience working with children under the age of 2; • Potty training experience; • Successful completion of secondary school; • First Aid and CPR; • Able to communicate in English; • Willing to travel with family and assist with child supervision (expenses paid by employer); • Able to work various shifts, including weekdays, weeknights, and weekends, with frequent variations to the schedule. References required. Compensation We’re offering CAD$14.00 per hour, based on 40-hours per week, and 10 days of paid vacation per year. Overtime will be paid after 44 hours per week, at a rate of CAD$21.00 per hour. We will pay for private health care insurance that offers coverage similar to the OHIP plan, until such a time as the employee is eligible for OHIP. We will also pay for transportation costs from your current place of residence to Toronto, and return transportation from Toronto to your original country of residence.
