Hello hello, my name is Dev! This summer I would love to connect with a family and provide full-time child care throughout the summer. A little bit about me: I am a third-year Honours History student at the University of Victoria with a passion for learning about Canadian history and keeping up my fluency in French. I have my DELF B2 bilingual certification for French and am open and eager to teach little ones this beautiful language! For --..., and 2017 summers, I worked as a junior counselor at Camp Maskepetoon with children of a variety of ages. This position offered me ample time to learn fun new games, songs, & crafts and further developed my ability to support and listen to children as well as diffuse behavioral challenges. Throughout the month of January and February of 2020, I volunteered in UVic's Special Olympics Program where I worked with exceptional children (2-6 years old) and helped teach/develop fundamental motor skills to the best of their ability. Unfortunately due to COVID-19, this program was cut short and I have not been able to connect and play games with little ones since :(. Though have really enjoyed living in Victoria for the past three years, back home in Edmonton I have 3 energetic dogs who I miss very much so it would be awesome to work with a family pet! I am an avid yogi and enjoy cooking, baking, and singing! I have respect for children, animals, and nature alike and would love the opportunity to work with a family with shared values.

I am looking to work with a family that has a child/children who are older than 1 year. I appreciate energetic & shy children alike and will do my best to help support your child in their personal and educational growth! As someone who loves to encourage learning, I am open and excited to teach your child the basics of French and Canadian history, as well as help further reading comprehension skills :). I am also happy to help with housework and cleaning and any pet care needs. My wage will reflect the services that I can help provide your family and can be negotiated.
