I\'m hoping that my skills, talents, history and interests are what you\'re looking for, and I\'m excited to make myself of use. Teaching Experience  October 2011-Present: Tutoring for Sylvan. Proficient in Math, Reading and Writing Programs. Working with students between 5 and 15 and building their confidence and skills. Also, working with and organizing a library of texts and organizational systems.  September 2010-June 2011: Oxstand-Bond International School in Shenzhen, China. Working with average to gifted students with low to extremely high ESL needs in a range of areas to prepare them for university. Specifically Grade 10 Learning Strategies, Grade 9 English, and Grade 8 English, Geography, History, and Physical Education. Practicum Teaching Experience  March-April 2010: St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Elementary School in Pickering, Ontario. Completed my 2nd Professional Year Placement in an elementary school with a Grade 6 class. Taught full time, working on all core subjects. Developed full units for both mainstream students and identified (modified/accommodated) students.  October-November 2009: Bishop Alexander Carter in Hanmer Ontario. Completed my 1st Professional Year Placement in a high school with an English teacher. I taught 75% full time, teaching two units for Grade 9’s and 10’s.  May 2009: St. Theresa Catholic School in Whitby Ontario. Peer mentoring gave me many opportunities to interact with floor mates as a person they came to for help as well as lessons in leadership, teamwork, planning, and enforcing rules.  2007 –...: Work for Community Builders, a non-profit organization funded by the Social Justice Department of Canada. Worked to teach students and adults about proper listening, leadership, mediation, maintaining community wholeness, and paying attention to the oppressions under the surface of society.  2006 – Present: Work at Shadow Lake Centre, a summer camp for people with developmental delays. In 2006 was a Program Staff. My duties: to plan activities and events for the guests to enjoy and assist all counsellors with their duties. 2007, senior staff in the position of Program Co-ordinator. My duties: to ensure all Program Staff are functioning well and assist all staff members when any problems they may have. Since then I have been Camp Co-ordinator. Responsible for all staff and guests and maintaining camp functionality and harmony. Responsible for speaking to parents of guests, dealing with policy issues, and counselling interpersonal problems that affect our workers.  Fall 2003 – Spring 2005: Worked as an instructor in community schools in Whitby. Taught Drama classes on Wednesday nights for 2 hours and chess classes on Monday nights and Saturday mornings for one hour each. From leading these classes, I learned the importance of planning, organization of daily tasks, as well as maintaining a professional manner when communicating with the parents.  2000 –...: Work at The Drama Club, a summer drama camp, as a senior counsellor. I’ve completed camper calls, care for spaces rented, organized activities and games, handled money during lunch purchases and dealing with others in a professional manner. This camp put on a full hour and half musical with children in just 5 days.
