I love working with children of all ages, but especially birth to five. Looking to work with children in their homes where each day can be planned with the children's needs in mind, and there is more time for playing, cuddles, and one-on-one interaction. I am a very patient, nurturing person. One of my strengths is figuring out what a child's actions are telling me, WHY they are doing what they are doing, and how I can meet that need. I believe children need time outdoors, rain or shine. I believe they need time to play on their own without adults directing their play or telling them what to do, but that they also benefit from a structured day with planned activities. I believe in natural or logical consequences in most situations. I am very consistent with consequences and following through with them, and I believe this helps children to be well-behaved. I believe in working together with parents to provide for the child's needs. I think I have a lot of advice and ideas that can benefit parents. I have years of experience working as an Early Childhood Educator and Infant Toddler Educator in group centres, as well as babysitting on the side. Most of my work has been with children ages birth to five. My duties have included art activities, outings and field trips, preparing snacks and light meals, nap times and bed times, and much more. I have also helped parents wean their children from bottles and soothers, establish a sleep routine, etc.
