Nanny in Edmonton

I moved to Edmonton almost two years ago. My wife is attending University of Alberta in the Library Science Graduate program. While she studies, I will be supporting our little family. I am looking for work in the early childhood field. I would be willing to work in-home or in a pre-school setting, but can not accommodate in my own home. I do have a car and have been responsible for driving children, I would feel more comfortable driving the family car, but not limited to it. Pets are not a problem, I have no allergies or fears. I will need a full-time job, but if you are looking for an occasional babysitter or pet sitter, please contact me. I have learned to understand the need for consistency with raising children. One of my strengths is working closely with parents to make sure we are all enforcing the same rules and in the same caring way. My most innate strength is patience with children. Children are born into a world where everything is new and they need time to process the things they learn every day. I have acquired a way of teaching them how to do things while letting them learn in their own way and time. I believe children learn best by doing and I allow children opportunities to do as much on their own as they are capable of and encourage them to push their own abilities while standing back ready to help when needed. Frustration is a common feeling among the very young, I talk them through their feelings in a language they can understand, and help them to work through the obstacle they are facing. My favorite phrase to use with children is "I'm not doing it for you, I''m helping. If you stop, so will I. You have to try your hardest, that\'s all I ask. Not perfection." I began working with children when I was 10. I've worked in almost all realms from babysitting to teaching. I have an interest in children with special needs, the children who've challenged me to think out of the box have been the ones to teach me the most. When my wife graduates, I will go to grad school to study early childhood development to add to the vast knowledge my years of experience have given me. If you like what you just read and are open to working with me to ensure your children's early years are a strong tool for their adulthood, please message me.

Beth Fox is a creative, positive and loving presence with children of all ages! Beth worked for me for several years as an independent contractor serving schools and early childhood centers with great music enrichment programming. She is both dependable as an employee and truly committed to the welfare of children.

Beth is an incredibly caring babysitter who has also worked as a pre-school teacher and studied early childhood development, so she brings an educational approach to working with children. She's warm, creative, and highly responsible. We miss her since she got married and moved!

Beth Fox is an outstanding child care provider. Between the months of May and August of 2015, she watched my girls (8 months and 2 years) every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon and if she still lived in the states, we would ask her to continue caring for them. Beth is extremely knowledgeable in child development, understanding to individual child needs and passionate about fostering healthy and happy work relationships with every member of the family. She is kind, hard-working and caring. Whomever looks to hire her is bringing a gem into the family.
