Nanny in Toronto, Ontario

I'm an
Individual
Hello! I am a young, fun, energetic, responsible, reliable and flexible Nanny with tons of experience. I've worked with many children with different abilities (Down Syndrome, ADHD, ASD, etc). Want to know a little about me? I am between the age of 25-30 (personally from what the children I've worked with have said, they prefer a younger Nanny because young nannies are more fun, always on the go and easier to relate to.) I loved working with children since the age of 9 and skipped recess just so I could help out in the kindergarten classrooms. How is it possible to love children when I was a child myself? Well, I have 16 nieces and nephews, therefore, I've started babysitting at a young age. I was always very mature for my age due to my upbringing and when I use to babysit my nieces and nephews I would set up art activities for them and I even made attendance sheets pretending I was an actual teacher! My elementary school principal realized I enjoyed being around younger children, so luckily at the young age of 9 I was hired as the parent-teacher night babysitter. I was in a classroom alone with up to 10 young children and it was my first paid job. Although it was only $25 it meant a lot to me and it wasn't even about the money, it was the fact that I was a young child trusted with babies and toddlers while parents met with teachers alongside their older children. That night inspired me even more to continue to work with children! I continued to volunteer with anything child related and once I entered high school and learned I could do a co-op course in the 11th and 12th grade, I was all for it! In grade 11 I did co-op in a daycare rotating throughout the infant room, toddler room, preschool room and even walked the schoolagers to school and picked them up in the evening. Due to an outstanding job, I was offered a job at the daycare right after my co-op placement and I was only 16! I wasn't qualified to work there because I wasn't an ECE/RECE but they were confident that I would be a good fit. I worked after school hours until 6pm everyday for 2 years. In grade 12 I did co-op in a school to gain experience in another environment and was placed in 1 classroom. The teacher I worked alongside bragged about me in the staff room and before I knew it I was rotating through three kindergarten classrooms throughout the week. I ended up connecting with 118 kindergarten children, 3 teachers, 1 EA and 1 speech therapist. After finishing my final co-op placement the principal at the elementary school referred me to work with the school board as a camp counsellor. I did my interview at the school board office and was hired on the spot as a camp counsellor, paid way over minimum wage. It was the best summer of my life. As an adult I went on to do the ECE course at George Brown College and did over 8 co-op placements in daycares and schools. After college I decided to take the route of becoming a Nanny so I can feel more free working with parents and children and connect in a different way. Being a Nanny means I get to be flexible with my hours and truly help parents guide their children into adulthood. It takes a village to raise a child and my role as a Nanny means parents get an extra helping hand... Not JUST during the hours of 6am-6pm, but whenever they need my support. I've been a short and long term nanny for multiple families and have also done babysitting over the course of 7 years. I am experienced with ages newborn-13 years. I am able to do anything a parent/guardian would need me to do for their child. I'm very compassionate, sympathetic, energetic and would put my all into providing care for any child. I love connecting with children and having a professional relationship with any parent/guardian. My favorite thing to do with children is hands on activities (art, puzzles, board games, sensory bins, exploring the neighborhood, etc), homework, reading, writing and math (I love teaching and helping children learn new and interesting things), being outdoors (I love splash pads, parks, nature walks, discovering and collecting nature), going fun places (I've taken children to Early years centres, Canada's Wonderland, The EX, the movies, arcades, indoor playgrounds, bowling, Centerville, the beach, etc) I hope you read my profile and hire me to be a full time nanny for your family!
