Nanny in Regina, Saskatchewan

I am very committed to learning and reading. I have been helping children to learn in all my paid positions. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from the University of Saskatchewan. During my first two years of University I was a Fine Arts major and in that time I studied drawing, painting, sculpting, and working in clay. After graduation I worked in the Connaught Community Library where I assisted patrons and helped prepare and deliver many types of programs including art, story-telling, and music. I spent two summers teaching arts and crafts at the YMCA while in high school. I have a deep love of art which persists to this day. I worked for eighteen years at the Royal Saskatchewan Museum where I delivered thousands of education programs to children of all ages. I participated in delivering art and craft activities, films, demonstrations, and outdoor events and object-based lessons. During my time at the Museum, I have given presentations to a very wide range of audiences, including very young children, children in summer camps, school groups, adults, and seniors. I enjoy working with young children very much. Our programming involved teaching about science, nature, and First Nations Studies. In this position I had frequent interactions with volunteers, school children, non-governmental organizations, teachers, parents, and school board officials. I have been involved in developing and refining programs, training others to deliver them, as well as evaluating program effectiveness. I currently work as a freelance content writer on the Internet.
