Having worked in the social services for five years, I have developed a range of skills that would meet, and exceed the expectations for the hiring role. In my most recent job position at London Children’s Connection I have gained a large amount of experience working with children and parents. I was the School Age Supervisor for the grades 1 & 2 before and after schooling program. Graduating with an Advanced Diploma in Child & Youth work at Fanshawe College has allowed me to gain experience and knowledge on many different situations surrounding the topic of social services. My second year placement was at the Middlesex London Heath Unit. I was a Youth Counsellor at Montcalm, John Paul11 and Central High School. At these three high schools I continuously counselled youth on addictions, mental heath, sexual health, educational goals and relationship abuse. I have also implemented and developed youth groups based on the needs of the different schools. Also while at the MLHU I was a Family Home visitor that did bi-weekly visits counselling around the issues of parenting, housing, nutrition, growth and development and linking clients to community supports.
