I am an energetic, outgoing, and caring individual who is extremely passionate about this line of work. I not only want to be a caregiver to a child/children, but I would like to be their friend, support system, educator, mentor, as well as become a part of the family. I have many experiences that have helped me to prepare for this type of job. I am a quick learner and adapt well to new situations and environments. I have obtained many educational as well as fun resources. I am efficient, structured, and organized with work tasks but also have silly and fun loving side when it comes to the children. I am willing to work later into the night as well as over night if need be from time to time. Being in the Early Childhood Education program, I have completed two years of placement experience. My first year was completed at the YMCA Les Chater location in the toddler room which included children ages 18months-3 years old. During my second year of placement I was at the St. Thomas More Childcare centre in the preschool room and cared for children ages 2 1/2-5 years old. I have babysat various ages of children since I was 12, including care for twins from the ages of 2-7. Throughout my experiences I have been involved in diaper routines, meal routines, program planning, clean up, meal preparation, and pretty much everything it takes to care for a child.
