I am a young, outgoing, energetic person, looking for employment close to home. I have two years of experience working in a day care setting working with children of all ages. I know that being a nanny and helping a family will be challenging, messy, loud and busy, but I also know it will be fun and fulfilling. Paramount Family Centre September 2012- Present • Working as a classroom teacher with one and two colleagues and up to forty-five children aged five to twelve years of age. Working in collaboration with these teaching partners to plan and implement relevant and interesting activities for children before and after school hours. Responsible for preparing children and walking them to school as well as meeting them at school and escorting them back to the centre. Responsible for making field trip arrangements, booking charter buses and maintaining safety equipment. Keeping open communication with parents and guardians about their child’s time at day care as well as any messages from their school teachers. May 2012- September 2012 • Working as a classroom teacher with one and two colleagues and up to twenty-four children aged 3-6 years of age. Working in collaboration with a colleague to plan “Kinder Camp,” a nine- week, fast paced program during the summer months. Planning themed activities, educational games, teamwork oriented challenges, as well as many off site water trips. Responsible for booking charter school buses, as well as preparing field trip permission forms, attendances and safety supplies for each trip during this period. Private Tutoring June 2011- Present • Working with children in grades one to six one hour per week on basic skills and homework. Planning weekly activities to improve individual child’s skills in particular in reading and math, as well as boosting confidence and self- esteem. Completing homework assigned by the classroom teacher such as weekly “popcorn” words.
